I was driving down the freeway and saw this billboard. I knew right away it was a quote from a Fosters character named CHEESE. It's part of Cartoon Network's new campaign to promote the network. The show is one of my current favorites and this character cracked me up. Here is the commercial spot below....

Here's a Cancer-us Creep pic from my paper bag sketchbook. I have my first gallery show coming up in August, so I've been struggling to get all of my pieces painted and framed. I'll try to post more sketches throughout the week.

Here's an unfinished Alvin and the Chipmunks pic. I still need to finess it with colors. I also want to do a pic of the chippettes. We'll see what happens over the weekend. Been kinda buried this month.

Below is a clip of the Chipmunks and Chippettes in the Chipmunks movie. Some really good exaggerated posing in the theatrical movies. Yet another classic cartoon floating in my cartoon memory.

Mac and Bloo Statues

My friend sent me photos of these really cool lifesize statues of Mac and Bloo in the Cartoon Network lobby.

When I saw this over at DRAWN, I was amped and had to post it up to share. YO GABBA GABBA! is a kid's show created by a group of artists for ages 1 and up. The host is (get this) a DJ named Lance Rock (too cool) who has a group of friendly toy monsters stashed away in his boom box. I hope one of the networks snatch this thing up to put on the air, better yet, keep it online to keep it's creative freedom. The show looks great! Watch the trailer below and see what you think.

This weeks throwback is one that not many people remember, but that's the whole purpose of the throwbacks is to resurface toons from the past that now live in Cartoon limbo. The get along gang is no exception. Though part of the cute, cuddly saturday morning toons which included the Wuzzles, Shirt Tales and Care Bears, the get along gang for some reason stuck with me. When I first started working for American Greetings I was given the task of taking these classic characters to a new level. Kind of like a facelift. It was a cool challenge for me to update these characters. Along with a team of writers I think the the overhaul came out pretty good. This was actually my first attempt at designing animal characters. Let me know If you all dig the final results.

The Moose is my favorite. I tried to make him iconic because he's the leader.

A few secondary characters.

The old GANG! Below is the itro clip to the cartoon. Maybe the song will jog your memory.
